I am actually re-learning to ride as I haven't ridden for at least 15 years. I must admit I am a fair-weather person, too, but my husband, who volunteers with ground search and rescue, says there is no bad weather only bad clothes! So, I am getting better gear. I really like the bike, and I like riding with my family. The price of gas is an incentive, too. And with all the hills around here, soon I'll have calves of steel! Then if I don't get something done it wouldn't seem like it was a failure! What type of bike did you get?
