There are hills both ways, but the biggest "up" is on the way there, not on the way back! I didn't get to it today--but there's always tomorrow!

How's the riding going? I really should start riding mine to the store to pick up those small items. The hill on the way home would be good for me! My son encourages me to ride with him from time to time but it's tough keeping up with a 20 year old!

I got a Kona hybrid: looks like a mountain bike, but has tires suitable for street riding--not so nubby, so easier to pedal. I am actually re-learning to ride as I haven't ridden for at least 15 years. I must admit I am a fair-weather person, too, but my husband, who volunteers with ground search and rescue, says there is no bad weather only bad clothes! So, I am getting better gear.
I really like the bike, and I like riding with my family. The price of gas is an incentive, too. And with all the hills around here, soon I'll have calves of steel!

Jan, I like that term-positive intentions. Then if I don't get something done it wouldn't seem like it was a failure!
What type of bike did you get? I have a mountain type bike but I'm such a wimp, I don't like to ride it its' too hot or too humid or too windy or if the ride is too hilly!

I'm glad you're enjoying the Ning. I've felt like a neglectful parent while on vacation not keeping up with all the conversations. But I'll get back over there today and start putting the new members resources on the front page.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Nedra,
Hmm... goals ...I think I will replace the word with "positive intentions" (is that a cop out?).
I intend to ride my new bike at least once every two days
I intend to have coffee/tea with my friends once a week
I intend to re-read one or more of the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency books either at the beach, on my deck, or by the river--not indoors.
BTW, thanks so much for your vision and commitment to the Ning--it is such a fabulous resource.
